TERRITORY LAW

The Canyon Creek Rulebook

Read it, know it, live by it. Every settler in the territory — new applicant or old-timer — is held to the same standard.

ARTICLE I

General Conduct

  1. Respect first. Out-of-character disrespect, harassment, or hate speech toward another player is never tolerated, in or out of character.
  2. 18+ community. Canyon Creek is an adult roleplay server. Applicants must meet the server's minimum age requirement.
  3. Discord is part of the territory. Rules apply across our Discord server as much as they do in-game.
  4. Staff calls are final. Disagree respectfully and take it to a ticket — do not argue moderation decisions in public channels.
ARTICLE II

Roleplay Standards

  1. Stay in character. Once you're in the territory, you're your character. Keep out-of-character talk to designated channels or /ooc.
  2. Value your life. Your character should act like a person who wants to survive — no charging six armed men over a stolen horse.
  3. No random violence. Every act of aggression needs roleplay build-up. Initiate properly before any confrontation.
  4. Stay period-appropriate. Modern language, memes, and out-of-era references break immersion — leave them out of character.
  5. Quality over chaos. We favor slower, story-driven roleplay over constant action. Build characters people want to write with.
ARTICLE III

Combat & Conflict

  1. RP before rounds. Combat must be preceded by clear in-character initiation — no surprise gunfights without buildup.
  2. Fear roleplay applies. A character held at gunpoint plays the fear realistically rather than instantly drawing back.
  3. Robbery limits. Robberies must be roleplayed fully, with reasonable demands and a defined cooldown between incidents on the same target.
  4. No spawn camping or revenge killing. Let a scene breathe. Chaining conflict onto the same player back-to-back is not allowed.
  5. Injuries matter. Play out injuries realistically — a gunshot wound is not shrugged off, and medical roleplay should follow.
ARTICLE IV

Metagaming & Powergaming

  1. Metagaming is bannable. Using information your character couldn't know — from Discord, streams, or another session — is strictly forbidden.
  2. No powergaming. You cannot force an action onto another player's character without giving them a fair chance to roleplay a response.
  3. No combat logging. Disconnecting to avoid the outcome of an active roleplay scene is treated as a serious violation.
  4. Stay in your lane. Controlling or narrating another player's character's actions or thoughts is not permitted.
ARTICLE V

Property & Economy

  1. All land is issued through the Territory Office. Ranches, farms, homesteads, storefronts, and land parcels are assigned via the Land & Business Office listings and staff approval.
  2. One character, reasonable holdings. Property ownership is scaled to keep land available for the whole community — no hoarding listings.
  3. Businesses need active management. A business left unattended for an extended period may be reclaimed and relisted.
  4. In-character economy only. Real-world trading of in-game money, items, or property for currency outside the server is strictly forbidden.
  5. Theft and fraud must be roleplayed properly, not exploited through mechanics or out-of-character coordination.
ARTICLE VI

Whitelist & Applications

  1. One application per person. Do not submit duplicate or throwaway applications while a review is pending.
  2. Be honest. Applications with plagiarized or fabricated backstories are declined outright.
  3. Steam verification will be required once that system goes live — accounts must match the identity used on your application.
  4. Whitelist status can be revoked for serious or repeated rule violations, at staff discretion.
This rulebook is a living document and may be updated as the territory grows. Significant changes will be announced on our Discord server. Ignorance of the rules is not treated as an excuse.
